Embellished Sea Project

Around three years ago, I started a project based on the sea. I made a book of my experiments in paint, print and textiles, which I spoke a little about in my Creative Bookbinding post. I created a couple of pieces as a response to what I’d done so far, but I wasn’t entirely happy with them. With my exhibition coming up, I decided to see if I could resolve some of the ideas I had come up with first time around, and expand news ones to make into a finished piece I was happy with.

I did a little bit of embellishing during the first stage of the project, but I wasn’t really confident at it and so didn’t pursue it. However, ever since, I have been wanting to try it again to see what I could come up with.

Whilst I don’t have a final piece to show you, I thought I’d share some of my initial ideas/experiments that I’ve been trying out, so you can get an idea of what I am working towards.
