Mark Making Art Book Look Through
After making my small folded book (which I did a look
through of here), I wanted to experiment more with
mark making. I followed the initial steps of preparing pages for a sketchbook from
Sandra Meech’s book Connecting Design to
Stitch.
I painted paper in acrylic washes, printed out photographs
and painted over them with acrylic washes, and made some initial marks on paper
and then painted over them with acrylic washes. I then used these pages to make
my marks on. I used a variety of media, including acrylic paint, watercolour,
ink, oil and chalk pastels, charcoal, biro and fine liner among others. I
then cut each A4 sheet in half and folded and bound them together to create an
A6 size book.
Below is a selection of pages from my book.
I'll try and post some of the pages that I didn't put in this post on my Instagram, so follow me there if you haven't already.
