Print Making: Monoprinting With A Gelli Plate
I’ve been wanting to do some more print making for a while,
ever since I made the posts on making clay stamps and collagraphs. It’s
probably my favourite creative thing to do, but I always think it’s more difficult
and time consuming to do than it actually is.
It was my first time using a Gelli plate, but I found it so
incredibly easy and quick to use and it creates some really nice prints.
I worked in the 3 primary colours (although I also mixed to
create secondary colours) and used newsprint to create shapes to place over the
plate. I wanted to play around with shape and colour as well as negative space.
I tried over printing and adding collage to my prints.
