Cards with Handmade Envelopes
Probably over a year ago now, I made some handmade envelopes,
after being left with sheets of painted A4 paper that I didn’t know what to do
with, when I first started working with acrylic inks. There was a strip of
paper, about 90mm wide, left over after making each envelope, which I kept with
the intention of making matching cards. I struggled to come up with a design
for a card that I liked, which is why it has ended up taking me a long time to
finish these off.
To make the cards, first I made a design in Photoshop (like
how I made my Geometric Style Cards).
I printed the design onto the back of the paper and cut out the shapes. I split
the colours into groups of three to mix and match. It took a little bit of effort
to get the triangles stuck on in the right position (as I didn’t print the
design onto the card like the last time) but I got better with the placement
the more I did them.
I found a recipe for envelope glue online here which I wanted to try out so the
envelopes could be sealed. It worked out really well, which, I’ll admit,
surprised me a lot!
I plan on putting these up on Etsy at some point in the near future.
