As I wrote in my
last blog post (the first post of the year) last year was a good year for me on
Etsy. It was the first time I really
felt like I knew what I was doing, or at the very least, I felt like I was on
the right track towards what I wanted to do and was figuring out what was going
to work for me. As a result, I updated my shop quite a bit last year, as I
ended up turning over stock quite quickly, which is great news, but it means
that a few items have sold out before I’ve got around to posting about them here!
As always, if you want to keep updated on what I sell on Etsy, you can always
follow my shop,
here. Alternatively,
if you want to just see what kinds of things I’ve been making recently, keep
reading…
I had a lot of success with my
scrap paper packs this year and, as a result, I have quite a few
listed in my shop. I’m still learning what colours/sizes are the most popular
and, inevitably, that does change over the year, but my approach so far is just
to have a good selection for people to choose from and replace the colours as I
sell out.
I started making
sketchbooks
again. I stopped making them for a while, after deciding I wasn’t happy enough
with what I was making to sell them for a sensible price, but I tried out some
new binding techniques and created a few books that I am really pleased with.
You can find out a bit more about some of them in
this blog post, with links to them on Etsy.
I also made a few simpler, single signature A5 sketchbooks.
I managed to finally get around to listing some of my
art.
If you have been reading this blog for a while, you may remember way back in
2016, a post called
Making Heat Embossed Art. Well, I have finally gotten around to listing the pictures on Etsy and
making them available for purchase. Better late than never!
I feel like I always say that I have more items to photograph
and list every time I write one of these and this time is no different. I have
more notebooks and artwork that I want to list, but haven’t gotten around to
yet.
In terms of what I want to make, as I said above, I will
keep making more scrap paper packs, but I also want to keep working on
sketchbooks, maybe with different binding techniques. I’ve even been thinking
about making and selling my own art journals, but that is definitely something to
think about for the future.
